After reading this announcement I decided to finally watch my Code Red blu last night, I hadn't seen it since the VHS case roped me in in the early '90s.

Better than I remembered! I had a vague recollection of this being kind of a snooze, and the acting is definitely masterclass-level shitty, but the third act was pretty balls to the wall! I think I read the original U.S. VHS was cut a lot?

There's some cool lighting effects that could benefit from 4K/HDR, so it's tempting to pick this up if it's not ridiculously priced.

I posted the below when I first saw it. Basically, the first hour is psychiatry and nightmares, filmed in an actual psychiatry hospital, and the rest is gory "zombie" survival that still has some jokes.

Move over, Halloween (1978) and The Terminator (1984), here comes the Virtuosity (1995) guy!

The Dead Pit (1989) is more Prince Of Darkness (1987) than Halloween, with some added The Evil Dead (1981) and Lucio Fulci. I love stunt doubles. Can you tell by my name? Cheryl Lawson starring in The Dead Pit would be like if they made a movie for Julie Michaels (They did. It's called Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway and it's fantastic).
