Default TV Distance

Hey guys i have a 50" tv. What distant should I be away from the TV? Right now i'm about 14ft away.

Ideal would be 1.5 to 2 times your picture width.

I sit 7' away from my 47" - haha, I really think it is personal preference, whatever looks best.

I'm 11' from my 98" screen, which I believe is about optimal.

Saw a link on these forums to a distance calculator a while back.. someone might post it for you if you can't find it with a search.

In any case, you're way too far back for your 50" screen. Roughly 6-8' tops, I'd say.

Edit: Found the link ( http://myhometheater.homestead.com/v...alculator.html ) which suggests 6.5' max.

That's more than enough distance. I sit about 10ft away from my 52" LCD and it's crystal clear.
