Default Oblivion GOY Edition

I had the original version for PC for awhile but then sold it to a friend, and I am now slightly regretting that move. Im thinking of getting it again, also to have the expansions with the GOY edition and b/c I think I'll enjoy it more on a console. It's been out for awhile with the GOY edition out for a few months, think I should just pick it up for $60 or wait and hope for a price drop? I can always hit up ebay and prolly pick it up used for $45

If you want to play it now, buy it now. $15 difference is a big deal, especially for a game as huge as this one. I swear it was designed to eat up hundreds of hours of your life. It's pretty good on PS3... looks beautiful. There's a wee bit of graphics slowdown which I attribute to being an x360 port, but other than that it's sweet.

With regards to the PS3 version, if you liked the DLC, you're pretty much out of luck except for Knights of the Nine. None of the other DLCs will appear on the PSN Store. Too much effort, too little return, was a miracle that they bothered to create a DLC version of Shivering Isles...

I like it, but well, I can't brign myself to go through it again, I still have my pc version, and I like ramping up the graphics to 17 [ user graphics replacement mods ftw], so it's "eh".

Quick Question since this had all opened. The Shivering Isles expansion...is it an actual expansion, or the whole game all over again?

Shivering Isles is included in the GOY version correct? Isn't there also other DLC included in GOY version too?

im pretty sure shivering island is just a added area to the world map you can travel there out there to start that quest story line.

Just Knights of the Nine, which was included in the standard release of Oblivion for the PS3.

Then I'm confused:

There is less graphics slowdown on the PS3 than there is on the 360 version, and this in spite of better graphics.

The PS3 version is not a port, it was rebuilt from the ground up.

Other than that one DLC expansion, and I suppose the achievements, the PS3 version of Oblivion is better than the 360 version of Oblivion in every single way.

It has the same game but with a whole new large area to explore with it's own story and quests. The nice thing about it IMO is that they integrated all the expansions seamlessly. I didn't realize I was doing the knights of the nine until the second quest.

Good to know. I stand corrected.

The original PS3 release has the Knights Of The Nine. I have it and played through the quest.

The GOTY only adds the Shivering Isles.

Correct. I wasn't suggesting otherwise.
