Hi Robert, has LG given you and reason why the set was 4k and not 8k? I realize 8k would be considerably more expensive if we are to use the 77" C2/G2 vs Z2 as a comparison however if ever there was a size that warrants the pixel density of 8k vs 4k I would think anything in the 97" and up range most definitely qualifies. LG doesn't even offer the 88" in 4k, just 8k so the 97" is a bit odd.

I can tell you LG's 97" G2 is stunning and although it would have moderately better image performance in 8K.

I can only assume the cost and production capability of making a 97" OLED module in 8K resolution would be a chandelle.

i'll wall mount the 88Z2 next to the 97G2 in our a/v showroom and hope to see some Blu-ray members stopping by to see these two beauties side-by-side with the same 4K HDR content and some 8K HDR content that will be dummed down to 4K HDR

Hope to see some BLu-ray.com members stop by!

Check out Shane Lee's YouTube video of LG's 97" G2 filmed at our store. We show the 97G2 being rolled into our showroom, the unboxing, best wall mounting practices to get the TV flush to the wall, and our first impressions:

4 people to hang, wow. That thing is a monster. Plugging anything in has to be a challenge! (But if you are one to get one of these puppies, you will get it figured out!)

What was the adjacent display? The 98" Samsung or the 100" Sony? And comparison thoughts?

So how does this compare to the 88Z2, does the Z2 still have the picture quality edge due to higher pixel density?

We have LG's 88Z2 next to the 97" G2 and Samsung's 85" QN900B is next to LG's 88Z2.

We'll be wall mounting Sony's 85" Z9K next to Samsung's 85" Q900B and when LG's new 86" QNED99UQA launches we'll finish our 8K wall with LG's 86" QNED99.

I have a Native 8K PC with exclusive Native 8K HDR content and AVPro's new Native 8K 48Gbps HDMI matrix switch to take care of the native 8K HDR content equally distributed to the 4 8K TVs that will be lined up on the same center line.
