With a lot of folks buying discs from Japan and other far off lands, I wanted to share what I learned about foreign language menus on discs. I had asked in a Dr. Strange thread, and DB5, Levcore, and Swervin were kind enough to point out how to handle them.
It turns out that there is a free phone app called Google Translate that allows you to take a photo and will translate words on it for you. Here is what one such translation looked like on my Japanese copy of Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: ![]() This method works, but I found it a little fiddly. YMMV on that. What I ended up preferring was to use the BR player remote to callup the settings menu where I was able to pick the English sound track and no subtitles, which is what I wanted to get to in the menu. Maybe I am the last to know this, LOL, but I hope it helps someone. |
