Default Reason for no delay on WB HD DVD - retail liquidation?

crazy thought tell me if you think it could be true. usually fines are pretty stiff for releasing movies before the release date, is it possible that some stores contacted WB and asked permission to release the HD DVDS before the delay, because HD DVDS sell much better when they are day-and-date with the dvd and that these stores are going blu-ray exclusive and they are trying to liquidate HD DVD stock. Being full blu now, WB happily agrees.
