Picked up the Blu-ray quite cheap not too long back and would buy the 4K UHD too.

Faye Dunaway is excellent in this – lends some humour to the film.

Probably another one which is fine when viewing in DV but in HDR10 not so.

In HDR10 there's one prominent frame durring the opening credits with HUGE (not hyperbole) blocks, which is only fixed via the DV layer.

Yes, this, but "not so" doesn't do it quite justice with this one. Shit is what said frame is in HDR10.

The HDR10 layer is arse with at least two instances of literal bricks:

Plus, bright areas can be un-optimized and are pretty much just a sea of macroblocking.

I just hope the grading is good on this one. I had no issue with the Studio Canal.

Going back to the BDs, there was a difference in grading between the Paramount and Studio Canal, just like with The Graduate. Though the UHD of Condor ended up being closer to the Paramount BD.

Feel foolish ordering it from amazon Italy a few days ago now.

So it goes, hey least the conversion rate was solid

Good on Kino making this easier to obtain! I like to pair it with Le Cercle Rouge for some reason; different countries but similar time period involving clandestine operations etc. The SC release was using DV as a crutch so I could end up grabbing this again if the new transfer doesnt' get flubbed.

That Le Cercle Rouge release...it's such a tradeoff. You have miserable compression and artifacts in spots in the SC but it's got nice grain in the rest of it. The Criterion lacks all those spots where it shits the bed in the SC but then the rest of the film is slightly less sharp.
