Arrow 70s, 80s, 90s Made-For-TV Horror/Thrillers on Blu-ray!

When I was younger, I always assumed made-for-TV movies were lame... but as I've gotten older, I've gained a whole new appreciation for them.

Since we're seeing an increase in them being released to Blu-ray and I didn't see another thread solely devoted to them, I figured I would make one. Whether they were made for the big three networks or for cable, you'll find them below. If I've forgotten any, let me know!

I just finished reading Are You in the House Alone?, which is a fantastic compilation of TV movies by genre and decade, edited by Amanda Reyes, whom many will know from her commentaries on various Blu-ray releases and her freelance writing/blog. It's a great resource for fellow fans of telefilms!

some of those listed don't even have a DVD release like CROWHAVEN FARM, which is a pity, this is cozy tv, a lovely thing that seems to have gone out of style

Kino has been killing it lately on the made-for-TV front.

A few more:

All these years later, and the VHS/Betamax release of Dark Secret of Harvest Home (which I have - heavily edited down in time) remains the only home video release of it.

Frankenstein: The True Story was released by Shout! Factory in 2020.

Perhaps you were thinking of Dan Curtis' late-night two-parter called Frankenstein that aired the same year?

Might want to include House of Frankenstein to the list. It aired in 1997 on NBC.

the woman in black is an excellent release from network, good PQ, better than ever, and decent extras.

Also its an unnerving movie to watch alone in the dark

Good thread, so what would folks say are the top five of these films? I’d have to imagine Salem’s Lot is in the top five for one

The 1974 TV production of Dracula has been available on Blu-ray for several years now.

It was originally called Bram Stoker's Dracula, but after Coppola bought the title to use on his own movie, it has often been referred to as Dan Curtis' Dracula.

Good thread, Wes. So many phenomenal TV thrillers haven't been released in any format, much less Blu-ray. Given the releases of the little-known The Victim and The Screaming Woman, I'm hoping there's someone at Kino Lorber who has a special interest in releasing more of these overlooked flicks.
