I currently have a 13 year old Pioneer VSX-1325-K receiver and I would like to upgrade it as most of my other equipment is 4K. My blu-ray, cable box and TV are 4K. The blu-ray player has dual HDMI's so I can connect that directly to the TV and then use the second one for audio into the receiver. However I can't do that with the cable box or my PS5.
My budget for a new receiver is about $2500 USD (approximately $3300 CAD) and the one that I'm looking at currently is Denon AVR-X4800H. It hasn't been released in Canada yet (it's probably going to be in the early 2023) but I'd like to start doing my research. What are your recommendations for my budget? Is there something better out there in that price range? My main needs are to be able to run 5.3.4 set up (currently I'm only running 5.3), have the 4K capability and possibly future proof it with 8K, I'll probably keep this new receiver for another 10+ years. Have good sound and enough power to run my set up without using additional amps (something with 110+ W per channel). I'd also like to have a good set up software, I don't mind the Pioneer MCAAC setup but I hear that Audyssey is better. Would love to hear your opinions. |
