Question Are Mickey Mouse films better on DVD due to Blu-Ray cropping?

Can anyone comment on whether Mickey Mouse animated films/shorts are better on DVD or Blu-Ray?

On Amazon and these forums (example , example) I've been hearing some bad things on the latter due to cropping.

Apparently because of the widescreen aspect ratio, all four sides of the image are cut out to where it's really noticeable. I.e In Mickey's Christmas Carol, Mickey hops on some books, but the books are completely cut off. Another scene shows Scrooge's face cut off as does the sign of the storefront he enters. From what I hear there are "countless more examples" across these blu-rays, though I wouldn't know myself.

However most reviewers don't seem to mention this or just don't know unless it's pointed out to them. (like me)

What do you guys think? Would you buy these on DVD or Blu-Ray?
