Two Makoto Shinkai animé films confirmed for Blu in Japan - Blu-ray Forum

His most recent film, and the one before that will be released on Blu ray in Japan.

Specs so far include 1080p MPEG4 AVC and PCM audio on both. No word on subs, but most likely if they don't contain them, ADV will release domestic versions.

Yeah, outstanding news.

And 5cm was on ADVs 'list' of titles that went missing off the website, so hopefully its getting prepped for a release here too.

I watched the first part of 5cm on fansubs a couple months back, and it is visually gorgeous. Should be an amazin BD release.
