I hope this isn't a redundant thread, but having just watched a number of cut-rate Starz BDs, I'd like to know if anyone else is underwhelmed?
The "Masters of Horror" volumes look like standard, dark cable broadcasts with an occasional increase in clarity. "Halloween" and the "Day of the Dead" discs look like they may be 720p at best. I have laser discs that look more hi-res than them most of the time. Also just watched an advance of "To Kill a King" from the same company, and it basically looks like an upconverted DVD. Is it a case of an indie label not having the money to do a fresh hi-res master and just putting the best they have onto disc and calling it hi-res? ![]() |
