Italian Job on Blu---blockbuster :) - Blu-ray Forum

It just danwed on me that instead of paying a fortune for that movie, I can keep my rental from blockbuster for I believe 29.99. I wonder if and when it will come back to blu. I do have a HD player so I might just buy it on there.

Has anyone else purposely kept a blockbuster rental, essentially paying for it?

How's the PQ on this title? I had heard it wasn't outstanding, and possibly better on hd-dvd (seriously, I think I did read that somewhere and it's an early Blu if I'm not mistaken so that could be true).

I think they have it at my local Zellers but I have been putting off buying it

Oh, and I don't know about Italian Job, but I've heard netflix has been losing a lot of copies of Shooter

I heard the PQ was horribletoo, by about 20+ people on these forums on some thread. Secondly, if you want it, get it brand new, you can get it off of buy.com half.com or tower.com for a reasonable price if you just keep checking, it goes in and out of stock.

ive kept tons of stuff from blockbuster....."in the store" because i can look on the receipt and see what i will be charged, dont know how the online handles that because when i was doing it i returned all my stuff to them. but yes it is highly unlikely they would have raised the own it price on shooter, italian job, etc.... and would probably be a cheap way to go, also if your talking about in the store, when you go in to pay make sure you ask for the case as well.

italian job PQ was sharp but it had Supergrain. Literally the arnold schwarzenegger(in his prime) of grain.

Italian job is definitely not my favorite Blu-ray PQ wise.

I just watched it, I didn't have a problem with the picture quality. I'm not saying it was spectacular, but I had no complaints. Good movie.

it looked 1000 times better then the vhs version and dvd version

i would just find it somewhere else cheaper and new if i were you unless you want to pay 30 plus whatever it cost to rent for a used movie ?

PQ on this movie leaves me thinking many times that I am watching a copy of a VHS tape. It's a shame such a great movie didn't get better treatment, but with the sequal coming out next year, I'm sure it will get a re-release, hopefully remasters this time around.
