It's better than nothing. Erotic thrillers are kind of disappearing into obscurity with no one wanting to release them. Boutiques could carve a niche with them since so few releases are out there. About the only company I can think of is MGM releasing a decent few for digital hd streaming, though they may not be the unrated versions and may be the incorrect AR.

Only way to tell for sure if it's unrated is the runtime. I see on main MVD website it lists the total runtime of the set, not for each individual film.

Okay, got my package in with all 3 double-features from Diabolik today. The run times listed on the back are:

Illicit Dreams - 97 minutes
Indecent Behavior 4 - 94 minutes
Test Tube Teens - 77 minutes
Rebecca's Secret - 82 minutes
Midnight Confessions - 75 minutes
Private Obsession - 103 minutes

It's a shame about the lack of BDs, but most of the erotic thriller/comedy genre doesn't have HD masters, though some titles surprisingly do.

Just wanted to hop back on the forum for a bit and give an update on the Skin Max DVDs. I received the first three releases yesterday and will give a rundown as to the content. I compared these to the unrated versions that are available online.

Midnight Confessions/Private Obsession - Back of the case states both titles are rated R. Midnight Confessions is the heavily cut R version. However, Private Obsession is the complete version, despite the R rating.

Test Tube Teens/Rebecca's Secret - Both titles are listed as R rated, however, I can proudly report that both are indeed uncut. The running time match up with the unrated versions, and you can tell simply by the length of the sex scenes.

Illicit Dreams/Indecent Behavior 4 - Illicit Dreams is listed as unrated, IB4 is listed as R. However, once again, I can confirm that both films are indeed uncut.

So in summary, of the six films, only Midnight Confessions is the cut version. The rest are indeed uncut, despite being listed as rated R. This is really great to see, and I look forward to future releases. If, of course, they continue to release the uncut versions.

Now to the bad. The picture quality is yuck. That is the best I can say about them. Probably comparable to a good quality VHS. I guess this is probably the best we can expect from old tape masters. Also, the two Shannon Tweed films are two of her weaker films, imo. Hopefully there will be future releases of some of her better films, including Indecent Behavior 1 & 2 and Sexual Response.

I saw Orbit DVD has all three of these available. In case anyone else was bummed about missing out when Diabolik listed them. Sad to hear Midnight Confessions is cut since that double feature was the one I was most interested in.

I am glad to see MVD/Skin Max are releasing these films to DVD. I am not bothered by them only being on DVD. I watched VHS for so many years that I find VHS masters on DVD to look fine. I also like the lower price that they can be released on DVD at. I ordered the first 3 releases and they should be here in a few days, will definitely be picking up the other 2 as well, and hopefully more releases will follow. I remember watching tons of these movies back in the 1990's on The Movie Channel and Showtime. I probably saw some of these, but I can't remember for sure, so I'll be having a mini marathon of these movies next weekend I hope.

Fans of Private Obsession. I received my copy yesterday and I can say it is indeed the complete version from the 90's and not the versions going around the internet for the last 20 years. If anyone remembers, near the beginning of the film there is the scene of her riding in the limo with her male assistant to a hotel for a modeling shoot. The scene then continues with them having sex at the hotel. That complete scene is indeed there. Most versions over the years only showed the ride in the limo then cutting to the scene where she's modeling on Hollywood Blvd. So happy to finally have the complete movie after all these years!

What's the runtime on the movie? I have the supposed uncut dvd but my movie runs at 1:40. Plus my cut doesn't have the scene you described.

I'd probably consider taking the risk of releasing a bunch of these to blu if I had the money for a startup. It's probably much tougher and more grueling dealing with all these companies than it sounds without experience, though. And then having to do restoration work, etc. Most are forgotten and it's been over two decades since most of them last aired on tv. Probably a smaller niche of customers to work with and it sounds like all the boutiques are afraid they'd be lousy sellers. Perhaps so, but it's still such neglected real estate that it's worth a shot.

This one is 103 min run time or 1 hr 43 min.

I loved the first 3 releases in this series, just yesterday ordered the second 2 releases. So looking forward to watching them this weekend. Any word on if there will be more releases in the Skinmax series? I hope there will be, as these films are great fun to watch.

It appears that Bare Exposure also seems to be slightly cut. There's a "walkthrough" of the film at Video Zeta One that shows that one of Tammy Parks' scenes has FFN, but the shot isn't on this DVD.

MVD trying to get 5 more sets out before the end of the year. Different Strokes (1998) will be in a future batch. Mentioned around the 55 min mark.
