Default Dexter: Origins - Dexter Prequel-Series

"Dexter" is getting a Prequel-Series called "Dexter: Origins".

Set in serial killer-ravaged Miami sometime in (presumably) the 1980s, Dexter: Origins “will begin as Dexter graduates college to join Miami Metro, where he meets younger versions of many of the characters we came to know in the original Dexter. And, of course, the show will also focus on Dexter’s family, including a very-much-alive Harry and a very formidable, teenage Deb.”

It will be in the late 90's. That's when Dexter joined Miami Metro.

Ugh. Wish they'd dismember this series, stick it in a trash bag and dump it into the ocean never to be heard from again.

Barely made it through the original series. Couldn't finish New Blood.

BUT... I will watch this if they keep Michael C Hall and do the really bad ways of trying to make him look younger like in the original series. Be entertaining just for that.

I bet Hall will just narrate the series.

Also Paramount+ has a Trinity killer prequel spin off in Development

If this is anything like New Blood then I'll just rather avoid it.

Bad plotting, bad dialog, bad character development and no Michael C. Hall?

Yeah, it’d be hilarious if they got Hall and Carpenter back and just put them in wigs pretending they were young like in the original series.

sounds like they're planning a few spin-offs...

"The network also revealed it's developing a new version of the popular 2021 limited series Dexter: New Blood. This time around, the series will depict the ongoing emergence of Dexter's son Harrison....Additionally, Showtime is exploring other projects based on various characters from the Dexter-verse."

New 'Dexter' Spin-Offs Coming to Showtime Expected to Take a 'Deeper' Look at Show's Iconic Characters

How do you know this? I don't have any interest in the show, but since I haven't seen it, I'm not going to pretend to know how it is.

Is it not pointless? All we are going to get is he was abused, started killing innocent animals and watching sister taking a shower until she fell.

I really cannot see what they can bring to the story that has not been done with all serial killer TV series/Movies.

As for Paramount+, can someone explain to me are all the shows coming to Showtime or is it the other way around the merger? It sucks for those like me who get Showtime on cable and Showtime Anytime pushing people to pay for another streaming service.

They are also now planning another season of New Blood while a few days okay they said it was canceled because of a merger. Eh, there is no need really, it will not bring anything new to the character we already did not get. All we will get is the other or previous serial killers he killed.

I loved Dexter and even New Blood but really at some point the series needs to end by getting caught if he survived the shot. If the prequel has Dokes than i am all for it
