Default Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis to star in Kay Scarpetta series

Nicole Kidman is nearing a deal to star as Kay Scarpetta, a forensics experts who becomes deeply involved in solving various murders and crimes. Jamie Lee Curtis would be playing her sister.

Not quite a done deal yet, but it seems to be very close to getting a two season order at Amazon.

I’ve read the first two books so far and they’re quite impressive. Deeply involved psychological thrillers with a very complex, yet still very compelling, main character, which I do think Kidman can give justice to given her acting range. I never imagined Kay looking anywhere close to Kidman, but I’ll be glad to be proven wrong.

Also glad this would be a series instead of movies, as the books are quite dense in plot and characters, and I don’t see movies having the length and breadth to convey the books well.

Apparently the books have been making the rounds for adaptions in Hollywood for quite some time, but it seems it’s almost a done deal now. Very excited for this, especially since I know Kidman will take the character very seriously as she usually does. Hopefully it turns out well.

I've read quite a few of the books, Kay's not the most endearing character and we've seen a few similar already in television. I thought Dana Delany in Body of Proof was pretty close to what I had in my mind's eye.

Haven't read all the books but I thought the niece was a much bigger character than the sister.
