Maybe he'll be at NYFF with the Hawke/Pascal short.

Yes, a book adaptation starring Blanchett.

He must have changed his mind after making the western short.

I'm aware of the project. It just seems weird that he pulled the plug on making one English-language film because he said he wasn't ready to then go and start making plans for another. Regardless, I am there.

Looks like this is shaping up to be another Almodóvar classic. I'll definitely be watching this when it's released. Almodóvar was the director who first introduced me to Spanish cinema way back in the latter half of the Eighties and I've been a devoted fan ever since.
