I miss the first few years of this format when I would gleefully pre-order some of the worst movies I have ever seen. Oh, The Haunting (1999)...what might have been...

Honestly given Paramount’s latest streak of bad compression jobs on 4K discs, I’m glad it’s Shout. They’re no Sony or FiM when it comes to compression, but lately they’ve been better than Paramount.

Not sure how this was shot but didn't like the look of the grain and textures on the 4K Dolby Vision stream on iTunes. Felt like To Catch a Thief. Need to revisit as it's been a while.

I heard the DTS on the DVD was quite popular.

That's still less than Paramount lol. Roughly like half of Paramount's latest 4K discs of catalogue (not new films) output have trouble with compression. 48 Hours, its sequel, Double Jeopardy, Fatal Attraction, Planes Trains Automobiles, Friday the 13th, Juice, others.

Shout, please do NOT neuter the LFE on the audio track for the 4k uhd. Forget sharting, the subsonics on the dvd almost knocked me off my couch back in the day.
