Netflix has given a series order to Zero Day, a six-episode conspiracy thriller that will star the two-time Oscar winner. The limited series, which courted De Niro late last year, comes from Narcos showrunner Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim, president of NBC News. Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland, Mad Men) has signed on to direct all six installments.

Watched the pilot last night, it's off to an ok start.

It feels so weird to see DeNiro doing episodic TV. Angela Bassett is just as regal here as she was in Wakanda Forever.

Halfway through this. Some of it is pretty good, some of it is pretty clichéd

Ok, watched the whole thing... I think for the most part, it sticks the landing, although there are a few things here and there that really stretched believability to near the breaking point. When you start out with a premise that sounds pretty far-fetched to begin with, you gotta keep it grounded as much as you can.

Still, nice to see DeNiro in a limited series, I think this is the first time he has played a US president?

Sadly, it doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me.
[Show spoiler]Manufacturing a crisis to prepare an authoritarian power grab? Cyber attacks? Tech bros (or in this case girl) using their wealth and power to interfere in politics? Not so far from what we are seeing today. Even "Proteus" may be real (google "Havana syndrome").

Anyway, it's not groundbreaking or anything, but a solid enough thriller that I binged the 6 episodes over 2 days.

I was not referring to the overall nature of the threat, as much as to the specific details. There's a lot of those that do not ring true, even in a fictional version of the US.

I was all bit meh for me and the last episode dragged. Rather forgettable and much more exciting tech thrillers out there.

Was DeNiro good in it or was he "phoning it in"? I'm probably going to give it a try for him and Connie Britton as I enjoy her work as well.

I think DeNiro is fine in this, it's probably not going to be considered an award-worthy performance or anything, but it's solid work and probably better than what anyone else could have delivered.

Entertaining enough thanks to a great cast. As for it being frequently unbelievable, is anything about America unbelievable anymore? Except a politician with principles

So,
[Show spoiler]after the first zero day attack which lasted a minute, around 3000 people died, right? But then the second one lasted FAR longer, how many people died? That really bothered me that it was just a case of "oh the lights are off again"
