This is always concerning with the way things are in physical media and Disney especially. I think it's definitely going to get one but weird there is no announcement or date.

If they revealed when the physical release would be available they would sell a lot fewer digital copies.

The physical release will not only contain better audio and video but will include the digital copy for the correct price of free.

I'll wait for it. Plenty of things to watch in the meantime.

They almost always announce both I don't think that's the issue to get more digital sales.

Some websites are reporting April 4 release date for the UK and April 13 for France, can anyone confirm this?

No, the date for D+ has not been announced yet.

I won’t try to hype myself up too much, but I hope True Lies and The Abyss get surprise digital releases on the 28th alongside Avatar 2. Oh, and the first Avatar ought to become available in 4K too. We shall see if any of that happens.

Yep... My iTunes preorder just popped up (Apple sent me an email to let me know).

I haven't seen the film yet. I'll probably watch it tomorrow night.

Just bought my iTunes copy. One of the very, very rare times I've purchased a digital copy at full price.

Worth it. Can't wait to watch this again!

I was going to buy it today from the iTunes movie store and download it to my MacBook Pro to watch connected to my 4K TV. I saw someome on Reddit saying you can only download a 1080p version and have to stream the 4K version, which would have a lower bitrate. Is that true? How are you folks watching it?

no one offers 4K downloads, you can only stream it. The 4K stream looks fantastic.

What kind of TV do you have? The Apple TV app runs on quite a few smart TVs, that would allow you to stream it in 4K:

I have an LG 50” smart TV from 2020. And I have a Roku Streaming Stick+, Xbox Series X and a 14” MacBook Pro to run the Apple TV app on. I know it’ll stream in 4K and probably look fine, but if I’m paying $25 CAD I was hoping I’d be able to download a 4K copy at a higher bitrate than I’d get by streaming it. I’ve noticed a lot of imperfections/compression artifacts in 4K streams especially in dark scenes or scenes with fast motion. Thanks for the reply!
