Paramount Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Mutant Mayhem 3D Blu-ray (2023) [Region Free]

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 3D Blu-ray REGION FREE

Original post:
The new TMNT film will be getting a 3D conversion by SDFX. Paramount pictures, so almost certainly no 3D Blu-ray.

Hi could you please provide a link or source to where it shows it’s getting a 3D conversion as the trailer didn’t mention the movie being released in 3D or Dolby or imax however since scream 6 didn’t mention a 3D release either for the first few trailers I don’t think you’re wrong just would like to see the source for myself thanks.

Sorry, I meant to add it earlier but I was away from my PC.

I find it ironic the SDFX announcement post says how thrilled they are to work with Paramount. If I worked there, I'd hate to work for Paramount, because I'd know that only a handful of people would get to see it for a week or so, and then all my hard work goes in the bin.

Paramount can g_bble my n_ts.

(complete above puzzle to assemble a well known phrase!)

I think you're on the money here. It stung to read that interview with a stereographer of PB:The Last Wish wherein he said he wanted folks to see it in 3D, but the interview came out ~2 months after that was possible.

Although, if I were going to work on something that would only be seen for a week and then tossed into a digital oubliette, I'd want to make it as memorable as possible, crank that 3D up bigly, no more of this "we have to protect our audiences" hokum. Go out with a bang.

But they do have releases on VR that are no where else. So that's maybe where this ends up, and from there? Who knows?

I kind of doubt it sadly. There’s a few more recently released 3D Paramount movies that never went on Bigscreen VR. Bigscreen hasn’t updated their movie roster in years.

Some good news is the hope that these 3D films that don't get blu ray 3D releases, will eventually be released down the road in the future on a new 3D format yet to be determined. So these 3D films are not lost forever.
Supporting them in 3D theaters is important if the 3D is worthwhile, as it lets the producers know there is an interest in the 3D, and that could eventually lead to an open mind to consider a home 3D format.

Small victories are still victories. 3D films will have a future so long as they keep making them.

Perhaps in 40 years, the 3D Film Archive will be securing titles like Mutant Mayhem.

This first trailer doesn't show the Turtles fighting or who they're up against, so it's still way too early to know how it will all unfold. I like the art style and when they hold their weapons, that looks like it has potential for slick, fast action hopefully. The cityscape looks really good too at night.

As far as converting a 2D animated film, the stereo 3D of the live-action CGI Turtles films were converted into 3D too, using the CGI assets according to Prime Focus, which has medium to strong 3D layering and fun 3D.

Thanks. I agree. Anything is possible, and 3D at home can return again once the display manufacturers give it more chances to progress as an option to high definition, for a more immersive visual experience.

TMNT2 is one of the few Bronze Age films that I've seen people react to pop-out during. It's an outlier to be sure, and a strong candidate to get a rerelease with JCam's motion interpolation.

For this film, I'm not sold on the flipbook animation yet, and I was left wondering why Donatello sounded so much more childlike than the rest of the squad. But hopefully it has 3D potential.

To end on a sad note, looking at how the 1980s & Michael Bay imagined April, I'll abridge da godfadda: "look how they massacred my girl"

I'd prefer physical media over any digital format, 3D blu-ray or any rom media would be the best solution.

I hear your concerns about the artistic changes. For Donatello, I think they have him before his voice changes at that time in his life. It's possible by the end of the film, his voice will get slightly deeper like in the cartoon.

Unless the original creators are in charge in every aspect as with those original comics, and animated series, these days anything is possible with how new producers and rights holders interpret a new film version.

Even just looking over the span of the different Turtles series over the decades, many changes seem inevitable. Some good, some not great depending on the point of view. In Transformers animated series, one series they exaggerate the Transformers so much, that they look like abstract cartoons almost. While I wasn't a fan, others said they love that series.

Thankfully the original series and its art, style and design are preserved on DVD at least and in other formats to relive/rewatch.

I'll keep an open mind with this new film and hopefully the movie is entertaining, and hoping for a strong 3D conversion, which can help a lot.

August 2nd, 2023 is the release date for Mutant Mayhem TMNT.
I'm relieved the film will be in stereo 3D, converted by SDFX (formerly Stereo D). Hopefully with access to the CGI assets, they deliver a strong 3D film throughout.

Jeremy Carroll at SDFX, is the stereographer.

He was the Stereographer and Stereo Supervisor on a number of films with a varying range for the 3D.

I didn't get a chance to see Puss 'n Boots 2 Last Wish 3D, but heard the 3D was effective and he was the main stereographer on that film while with Stereo D/SDFX.
