Or an excuse to not having to deal with international orders?

Got a copy pre-ordered from a store here in Sweden.

So might pop up in other stores as well.

Wrong section, though.
Oh it's such a fun film. I first saw it on the Code Red BD in 2018; I've since watched it many times and bought the frankly brilliant soundtrack.

I'm really looking forward to getting this new version; I'm sure you'll love it too!

Me too! I got an email today that said they now have it in stock but it didn't say it had been shipped. I hope they do send it out early, looks like a really nice release.

It's really good, very gory. Makes Rambo look like a picnic.

Had no idea this was getting a deluxe release. Preordered from Amazon UK, $38 shipped to the US. I’ll take it. This will be a nice upgrade to the Code Red disc, which wasn’t half bad.

There's no mention of a standard edition that I could find.

Granted, Italian soundtrack is important for some but all the actors in the film so far as I could tell were speaking English (with dubbed voices). Even Margie (who couldn't speak English well at the time) was - with a dialogue coach obviously. Just saying.

What a great romp this film is though, typically Italian!

I tend to get the impression English audio makes more sense most of the time anyway, considering international casts (some British/American or with a good grasp of English) and aiming not solely at Italian audiences but also for international export, sometimes using American settings and not being definitively set in Italy. I remember reading Argento’s screenplays are written in English before being translated into Italian, Suspiria had some on-set sound recorded in English.

Usually labels include both tracks, but probably depends on what the licensor has available for a territory and what materials are surviving - Sabata, Hatchet for the Honeymoon, The Syndicate Sadists only have English soundtracks (88 tends to default to English from the menu) and with German Blu-rays often both English subtitle and dubs are available but it can vary, I’ve never really had an issue with Blue Underground DVDs of The Heroin Busters and The Big Racket and all Wild East releases only including dubs (some newly recorded I believe.) Though sometimes the dialogue is translated differently English vs. Italian so would need both dubtitles and subtitles tracks. Or issues with Deep Red and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (at least initially) having scenes exclusive to the Italian rather than export versions.

Sometimes you could research the intent or the nationalities of the actors, but I’m not sure one would want to do that before every film. But a high quality dub should be on par with the Italian dub (or maybe better?) even if the voices don’t always align perfectly with the faces/mouth movements - but sometimes it does a pretty admirable job and you don’t notice. Of course dubbing/post-synchronisation is still an everyday occurrence in the industry to an extent with the use of ADR - sometimes mor often than you realise.

Even as someone who watches a lot of subtitled films, it can be more relaxing at times to just watch a dub.

About 25 years ago, I had the pleasure of seeing this on the big screen at one of the Eurofests in London. I believe it was played in tribute to David Warbeck, who was a friend of 'Fests and had died since the previous one.

It went down a storm with the appreciative crowd.
