Default How Many Times Have You Doubled, Tripled or Quadrupled Dipped?

Greetings All:

In my lifetime, there have been six home video medium changes. They are the following; Betamax, VHS, Laser Disc, DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Ray. (Technically, there are seven if you count Digital but since most are free with purchase, I'll be leaving them out of my dips). And, with these changes, there have been purchases made. And made. And made again.

My question:

How many times have you doubled, tripled, or quadrupled dipped a film?

(Some of) My Multiple Dips:

Heat (VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, & 4K)
Star Wars IV, V, VI (VHS, DVD & Blu-Ray)
Alien (VHS, DVD & Blu-Ray)
Aliens (VHS, DVD & Blu-Ray)
Alien 3 (DVD & Blu-Ray)
Alien: Resurrection (DVD & Blu-Ray)
The Matrix Trilogy (DVD, Blu-Ray & 4K)
The X-Files: Fight the Future (VHS & Blu-Ray)
Batman (1989) (VHS & Blu-Ray)
Jurassic Park (VHS, DVD & Blu-Ray/3D)
Jurassic Park 3 (DVD & Blu-Ray)
Scream (VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray & 4K)
Blade Runner (VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray & 4K)
Jaws (VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray & 4K)
Pulp Fiction (VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray & 4K)

Anyone else read the thread title and hear the double dip chip scene from the Seinfeld episode?

A lot of double dips much far fewer triple dips as I didnt really commit to bluray that strongly early on so a lot of the time I'v only upgraded by DVD's fairly recently with either UHD or better quality later day blurays I'm happy with.

I think Blade Runner is the record with half a dozen versions, VHS, DVD, Final Cut DVD, Bluray, UHD, Film Vault UHD, the latter obviously more of a vainity thing to look good on a shelf but besides that they all good plenty of viewing.

There are many classic titles I have/had on VHS, Laser Disc, DVD and Blu-Ray -- and even multiples within format (for remasters, widescreens, spec. ed. - etc.). Never had Beta, Selectavision, or UHD.

For sure and many more:
The Walt Disney era animated features and live-action classics
The Wizard of Oz
Gone with the Wind
Superman
The Ten Commandments
The Sound of Music
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Charlie Brown specs

What I've learned: Some of the beast masters are not necessarily the latest.

I promised myself I would not do it all again for 4K... But with Blu-Ray combo pack remasters otherwise unavailable, likely I will break that to some degree.

Let’s just say that I’ve gone through VHS, laserdisc, dvd, blu ray, and 4K…

I don’t want to think about it too much…..

Too many to list because of perennials from the VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD days...

Well if you've bought every version of Princess Bride and Army of Darkness, you win!

I think Top Gun might be my most-purchased title: VHS, DVD, DVD special edition, HD-DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, 4K steelbook.

Off the top of my head, there are six movies I've quintuple-dipped: Star Wars (the entire original trilogy), Spaceballs, Robocop, and Batman (1989).

VHS, DVD (twice for all except Batman), BD (twice for Batman, once for all the others), and 4K.

You can also add T2 to that list if you count buying the Ultimate Edition DVD twice.

With VHS I mostly taped from TV (that used to be okay to do), never did laserdisc. Most of my double dips are accidents. I don't know how many.

Way more times than I would prefer but as long as the blood continues to pump through the life of physical media I can't complain too much.

I had like 18 versions of T2 at one point, but none of us can compete with you, almighty Dally, and your replicant obsession!

Many, many.

Certain things I've bought not only across multiple formats, but multiple times on the same format.

I have purchased "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" an INSANE number of times. I've probably bought it more times than I've watched it in the past 20 years.
