Default Mama's Family (1983-1984) vs (1986-1990)

Which is your favorite run of Mama's Family?

NBC, 1983-1984

Syndication, 1986-1990

I mostly remember the 1986-1990 syndicated shows, so those are my favorite.

The later seasons are much better for me, they're the reason I love the show. The *only* thing that the old seasons have that the later seasons don't is Carol Burnett's Eunice.

But otherwise, all the characters were a little dull in the older seasons and even Mama was more dumb. In the new version, even though Mama is limited by her age, she's still smarter than everybody else and I enjoy her having a friend of her own like Iola. Naomi and Vint are more one-dimensional, but the show was much funnier for it.

I'm enjoy this show and this show so funny and so I did watch it on MeTV. I like all season (Eunice (Carol Burnett) is always cracks me up!) and so anyway... definitely Syndication (1986-1990) and Bubba is the best character.

I love the show the whole way through, to be honest. But I will concede and say I like the syndicated era more. It felt like the show came more into its own by then and not just a spinoff of the Carol Burnett Show skit "The Family"
