Love this movie and definitely want that mid-level edition with the novel and the rigid case, but I'm hoping Diabolik or a similar US outlet carries it because there's no way in hell I'm paying $30 for shipping.

That's wild. I was gonna buy Kids and the shipping for that set is only $15. And it looks to include the same amount of stuff/probably be the same weight.

Either way, at $140 you get free shipping. So you could add one or two more titles and get free shipping instead!

Their prices are insanely high for what they are already. $55 for a movie with a slipbox + poster versus what Arrow and Second Sight can put out for like $30-$35. Then the international shipping on top of it.

Well after spending some ill-advised time browsing the Umbrella site late at night, I found a bunch of other stuff I wanted so now I’ve got this preordered, haha. I had no idea they’re gonna be releasing King Kong Lives! I’ve been waiting for a BD of that forever.

That was just a cash-grab standard blu release Shout tossed in quickly before the 4k dropped. Now I wonder who grabbed the 4k license on this title for NA.

I think it's a Warner title here as I have a WAC DVD of it. If that's the case I think it will be a very long time before it gets a UHD release here.

Good question, did anyone ever confirm whether Warner still has US distro rights, how comprehensive those rights are (inclusive of 4k if still active?), and whether Shout sublicensed its blu ray release from Warner, or from the original rights holder Rainbow?
