How long should I wait for an eBay seller to send an item before I contact them?

I won an auction item on April 27 around noon, paid for it about 24 hours later, and the "purchases" section on eBay for the disc is saying "awaiting shipment" still, nearly a week later. This user has only sold one item before (maybe that number is for my item) and they don't have a message on their profile saying they are away or anything. There is no tracking number (maybe because it hasn't been attached yet) and on the purchases section, eBay lists the estimated delivery between Wed, May 3 and Mon, May 8.

I am starting to worry. Should I contact the seller now? Or wait until tomorrow (a week after I paid) or Monday the 8th?

The only thing I found of any help on eBay's community was this question from a buyer, but in that case it seems the item was at least shown as being sent and in my case there is no signal that has happened at all.

I bought a couple items after this, and they took a day or two after payment to start shipping, but they did start shipping. I don't recall having to wait as long as I have just for a notice saying it has been shipped.

I would contact them. I think Ebay's policy for sellers usually requires shipment within 3 days, at least that's what I see on the items I've sold there.

I would contact them; give them the benefit of the doubt, lest they're sick, out of town or something, if you really want it. If the delivery time was critical to you, you might as well start a cancel order proceeding through ebay, for failure to ship within the expected time.

Top rated sellers have to ship within 1 day. Of course some operations, like gruv, that can't actually handle their order volume that fast, but don't want to pay ebay extra AND lose promotional rank, only generate a label within 24 hrs, but the actual package won't show movement for 3-5 days.
