Default HBO's Inside the NFL Canceled

I can't believe HBO dumped Inside the NFL after 31 years, this was a great show and my breath of fresh air on Hump day.

I really hope since NFL films owns this show, they get it going on the NFL network atleast.

sad sad day....

WTF is wrong with HBO

Instead of doing the show in HD they cancel it? This is an OUTRAGE!

UPDATE:

The NFL said Wednesday that it will continue with "Inside the NFL" on another network. There have been discussions with three or four other unnamed outlets, though no deal has been made. The show will kick off again in the fall, regardless.

I was never really a fan of the show anyways...

NFL Network plus anything on ESPN makes this show pointless...not to mention if you have On Demand features with your service....

I dissagree. The look and feel of NFL films highlights used by INSIDE THE NFL is unique and COMPLETELY different then all the other highlight shows... and the discussions about the Sunday games 4 days later on Wednesday often brings more to the table then immediate same day highlights.

The 2 BEST NFL highlight shows are no longer in existence:

1) NFL PRIMETIME with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson (The new NFL PRIMETIME sucks).

and

2) INSIDE THE NFL (who knows what the new version will look like and who will be hosting it when it comes back in the Fall + will if FINALY be in HD?).

NBC's Sunday Night Football highlight show is mediocre.

Hopefully, NFL Network will produce NFL Gameday in HD this upcoming season.

I hated the panel for Inside the NFL...everything else doesn't matter because I can't stand them..

What the hell is going on with HBO?? They can't seem to understand that it's subscribers like their shows. Case in point Carnivale, Deadwood, Rome. It seems that just when you get into a show and really enjoy it HBO hits the old cancel button. F**k you HBO!!!!

Rome was a co-production with BBC, and way too expensive for the returns it was generating

Can't say that I'm sorry to hear the news, inside the NFL isn't what it used to be...seems to me they got away from showing mainly the games highlights for a bunch of other bs....

Inside the NFL was/is a great show, but I imagine the amount of money HBO was paying for the video just wasn't economical anymore. On a network channel, at least they can charge up the butt for commercials - not so much on HBO.

That is very very likely the reason. I bet the NFL just kept raising the prices on the broadcast rights for the footage, etc.

It may be that HBO had no choice. It may have been more shenanigans from the NFL that caused it.

Yeah I am cancelling my subscription this week. I realized I was paying $14 a month for on HD channel (the only one I ever watched) and maybe one decent new movie a month. There are now NO other shows I watch on it, with the NFL show the last straw. See you later HBO.

I used to watch this show back in the day with Lynn Dawson, Nick Bonticonti (sp?) and Chris Collinsworth. I haven't had an HBO subscription in years. I didn't realize it was still on the air.

I actually hope it does turn up somewhere this Fall. Whether or not you like the general feel of the recent incarnation of the show, the highlights were second to none. Those NFL Films highlight packages are the best, and nobody else has them. In addition, the show obviously needs to be HD.

Inside the NFL was the only show I missed when I cancelled HBO a few months back. After the Sopranos, there was nothing left for me. I went switched to Cinemax and at least I can watch movies again.
