I'm not sure if any of you stumbled on this article, but when I did yesterday I thought to myself Oh yeah!? I went out today and pre-ordered 1 SE copy of GTA4 and 4 standard, for PS3. I'm keeping the SE version and two standard to give to my old man as a birthday present along with his PS3, another to my bro and the rest I'm eBaying. I might pre-order more seeing as we might get that $600 tax rebate and I wasn't expecting to get it. I have both PS3 and Xbox 360 and I am not going to succumb to buying the 360 version. I encourage others to do the same and purchase an extra copy of the PS3 version when you do. I already convinced two of my friends. Blu for the Win! |

I wouldn't doubt if 360 "Owned" launch #'s. But just because there's more 360 units out there. Isn't there? That would be the only reason I could think of.

How do you figure? Just because the disc can hold more doesn't mean they're going to make two completely different versions. Usually when a game's coming out on both they only have minor differences. It's just easier for the game makers to do that rather than make two totally different versions. Or do you know something about it that I don't? If so please provide a link.

There are tons of die-hard people that buy games, movies or books from Ebay who only buy from Ebay so I'm not really cancelling out any sales from doing so since they're choosing not to go to a retail store to buy the game in the first place.
According to Moore last year, he said each of the two episodes include a minimum of 10 hours of completely new gameplay. So they are very different. But who knows the exclusivity might be time specific and the content may be released on psn months later after it's release. |

Oh. Have you noticed major differences in other multiplatform releases? I've rented a few titles on both consoles to see if I could see a signifigant difference and couldn't. Maybe you have some titles to suggest?

only reason that multiplatform games look the same is cause devs make it for junkbox first and port it over to the ps3. if they either did it the opposite or made two seperate versions the ps3 would easily be better.

no, i dont have a 360 yet. Actually this is the first time I've ever owned 2 systems at the same time (PS3 & wii). Isn't there supposed to be Orange Box differences?

Yes and I hear that the PS3 port isn't as good(doesn't mean it's true), though I haven't yet had the opportunity to see for myself. I will definately rent both before I pick which console's version to buy.

I like both console's for different reasons, when just taking gaming into consideration. But I admit I really do wish MS would just sell "Live" to Sony though and get out of the "console manufacturing game"

I keep hearing live is so much better. In what ways? I haven't really used it besides Halo online at a friends place. |

But I can say that to me the acheivment system really draws me in. It is pretty efficient when it comes to online play. I very rarely get disconnected or have lag. It also seems like the store is a little more user friendly when it comes to finding what you want. But I think the look of the psn store is a bit prettier. I only have Motorstorm on ps3 right now and nobody on my friend list yet so I can't compare ease of use for chatting. But on the 360 you can access the guide from in game. It's also really smooth when accepting game invites and sending them. Easy to start up a chat with people that are playing other games. I do look forward to getting COD4 on the ps3 so I can get a friend base and compare more of the online features. All in all, I think eventually the ps3 will surpass the 360 'cause it's a superior machine but for now "Live" is really cool just because they have had way longer to perfect it. |
