In the case of the first Avatar, about 6 months after first blu release, they did a 3-BD collector's edition with an extended version of the film and scads of BTS material. Any word on a similar thing happening for the sequel or are the currently available discs likely to be the only ones available (talking strictly about on-disc content, not packaging swag).

I swear i read a thing where Cameron said the theatrical version of WOTW is his preferred version and there is no extended cut. Perhaps i imagined that though.

I love the movie but there are certainly some odd edits in there where it feels like it cut away from a scene before it was finished.
