Kwaidan (1964) v Dreams (1990) - Blu-ray Forum

The two well-known Japanese anthology films. Which one do you prefer more?

I have gone with "Kwaidan". It is relatively more focused on a theme (horror/ghost stories). Stories such as "The Black Hair", "The Woman of Snow", "Hoichi the Earless", etc. are memorable.

"Dreams" is more into magical realism. Segments that I like include "Village of the Watermills".

I would agree. Kwaidan is the better film.
Dreams doesn't hold together as well. The bad parts bring it down.
