Cool to see Meg 2 is being made and possible for 3D. I just finally watched that one and was happy with the 3D, medium to strong 3D layering surprisingly and I liked the movie so if part 2 is in 3D, I'd see it for sure in theaters.

Good to see Transformers Beast Wars will be in 3D.
Indiana Jones 5, this would be the first one in 3D. I hope it happens.

We've seen a recent disappointing trend where certain spectacle (special effects films) movies would have surely been in 3D but went 2D only, like the 2D release of 2022's Black Adam, that was so full of slow motion and shots framed for 3D that it's unfortunate it was only 2D. Hotel Transylvania: Transformania was 2D only too I believe, but only had a limited theater run. Moonfall, Uncharted, Morbius, Sonic 2, but good to see A Day to Die 007 was in 3D surprisingly. Was Fantastic Beasts Dumbledore in 3D? I remember reading early in the plans, that Top Gun 2 was going to be in 3D, but wasn't.

The trailer for Guardian of the Galaxy 3 has strong 3D in there, looks promising. James Gunn is the director again, and he has shown he cares about the 3D presentation.

Now just to get these on blu ray 3D hopefully in 2023, 2024.

Fantastic Beasts 3 was not converted, nor was anything else from Warner Bros. in 2022. I'm hoping they'll at least spring for Dune: Part Two.

Yeah it really doesn't seem like a positive outlook for WB and 3D at all and i doubt that Dune 2 will get a conversion, hope i'm wrong. What was WB last 3D movie, Godzilla vs Kong?

Warner Brothers, being bought out by Discovery Channel, was going through a change over, but hopefully now that the dust has begun to settle on the adjustments, they'll get back on track with supporting 3D and blu ray 3D. They've been one of the best for blu ray 3D long after other big studios have given up. We'll see how 2023 goes with Dune 2.

Apparently the upcoming DC film The Flash will be released in 3D. There is a list of upcoming WBD films and The Flash has 3D next to it.

This may be fake, so it's best to take it a pinch of salt, but the possibilities are endless. While that looks like good news and WBD may finally be back with 3D, it's a disappointment to see Shazam! Fury of the Gods not releasing in 3D as well, especially when the first film came out in 3D back in 2019.

Nonetheless hopefully this means that Dune: Part Two and future WBD films also get the 3D treatment and we can also get the 3D Blu-rays for them as well.

With the current scenario at WBD and DC projects going haywire under James Gunn's leadership and before that too, it's highly unlikely for that to happen, especially when films like Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods could've easily got a 3D release back then.

So I like to think the conversion is actually being done right now and getting ready for release in June. As always, hoping future WBD films get the 3D treatment as well.

That would be cool if The Flash is in 3D for sure with Michael Keaton cast, co-starring and showing up for hopefully most of the film. Thanks. I wish the original Batman 1989 was converted into strong 3D. Maybe by 2039, the 50 year mark for that film by some chance.

Yes, the 3D is the main thing that would get me to see Shazam 2, but unfortunate it won't have 3D like Black Adam didn't. Its visuals would've been near perfect for a strong 3D conversion.

The good news is, James Gunn is a fan of stronger 3D with Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, and 3 it looks like from the trailer so far too.
Why The Suicide Squad under his direction wasn't converted, is probably due to the R rating.

James Gunn didn't convert The Suicide Squad because of the R rating. He specifically stated the following reason in a now-deleted tweet:

There is no 3D version of #TheSuicideSquad. There are too many fast-moving, handheld camera shots, & quick cuts, which simply don't work well in 3D. If a movie is going to be in 3D, I take that into account from the beginning.

Honestly I disagree with him. I think the film itself had a lot of 3D-worthy shots and this film should've gotten a 3D conversion, but it's all up to the filmmaker and how they want to present the film to the audience.

Anyway I'm not particularly interested in Gunn's vision for DC, so yeah, I'm not really holding out for it. But I do hope WBD restarts their 3D releases and brings us more 3D presentations beyond The Flash.

Thanks for the details, RitwikKN2002. It did have a number of slow motion style shots and special effects that could've worked great in 3D, agreed. Prometheus was R and got 3D, along with Dredd 3D being R, which I tend to forget that even an R rated movie can get a 3D conversion.

Yes, here's hoping this new WB team see the value in 3D conversions for theaters and then for home 3D.

Indeed, very few Chinese films still do 3D conversion except animation ones nowadays. Among the films that will open during this year's spring festival, only two animation films are in 3D, Deep Sea and the new Boonie Bears movie. If I remember it correctly, the last major Chinese live action film in 3D dates back to 2021's The Curse of Turandot.
