Unhappy Be careful what you wish for!

Well, Blu won, and what did we get?
No BOGOs from Amazon since.
No Blu-ray movies in BB or CC ads this week
Still no Blu support from Universal or Paramount
No really good deals from most major retailers.
So, what did we "win"?

Yeah!

I find it a good thing for the time being that there isnt any adds for sales. Its showing that Blu Ray is doing so good we dont need sales..all we need is to see the "own it today on Blu Ray high def and DVD" promo. That shows that its becoming a house hold thing.

HD DVD on the other hand with its buy one get one free sales and the price decline in players and movies..and the huge section in the add is showing that it needs as much attention as it can get in order for people to buy there product.

off the top of my head,

Higher bit rates = better PQ
lossless audio = better AQ
twice the capacity = more and high def extras
eventual united industry where all movies will be in this format

you didn't waste any of your hard earned money
Would you rather be on the other side of the ball? I'll buy your Blu-ray collection on the cheap if you would...

You didn't think all that stuff would be free forever did ya?

And we won mass adoption to HDM which guarantees a future. When the general population starts buying Blu-ray then prices will drop like DVD.

However, we need HD DVD completely dead before we can claim victory. We have not actually won anything yet. Rather, we have only achieved increased market share.

Be patient.

Did you really think BOGOs every month would continue?

Player prices will come down when they phase out the 1.0 players and the BD30 gets phased out by the BD50.

This stuff doesnt happen overnight.

Do you really think Para and Uni wont do blu soon after today's news?

edit: I refuse to look at entertainment media as an investment, as they are only going to loose value.

While BOGO's are great for the individual consumer, they sometimes show that the product needs some help 'cause they're not selling as good as they want them to.

So think of it as a sign that Blu's doing good. Be patient friend, you will find more BOGO's just not as much. Just look around......keep looking.....
Keep looking.....there's gotta be one around here somewhere.........
Oh look, what is this.....

Wow, what a statement!

How about a plain and simple answer. We won the format war. Now, just try looking at all the positives that come with that. Just to many to list here, but take a moment or two and think about it.
