Why are Blu-ray movies so bad?

Most of us, presumably, have upgraded to HD to experience classic movies the way they were meant to be seen.

And, to be honest, most of the current Blu-ray releases don't exactly warrant the 40" 1080P HD experience.

I sold my HD-DVD player, because, let's face it, it's dead now - but look at the disks.

Deer Hunter, The matrix Trilogy, The Bourne Trilogy, The Thing - the list just gets better and better.

And Blu Ray? The list contains a hell of a lot of movies I'd barely rent - let alone buy on HD.

Can't we see a few more Apocalypse Nows, and a few less 'Runaway Vacation?'
