Default $10 off The Rock/Crimson Tide Blu-Ray Coupon Question

I emailed Bill Hunt at Digital Bits regarding this, feeling it may cause some confusion with some Blu-Ray customers that it applies to, but never heard back or a mention on his site, which was surprising since Digital Bits usually post things that require clarification from studios, etc.

Anyways, if you purchased the recently released Blu-Ray editions of either "Crimson Tide", "The Rock", or "Con Air", you may have noticed a $10 off coupon inside. It is pretty self explanatory, in that you receive $10 back if you purchased the Blu-Ray version AND already owned the standard DVD version. The requirements are pretty basic, send in the proof-of-purchase tab or UPC from the standard DVD release, the original rebate certificate, the proof-of-purchase tab from the Blu-Ray version, and a cash register receipt showing purchase of the Blu-Ray version.

There are two things that are unclear to me. The first is that it states "Limit One Rebate Per Household". While I realize that that usually means, does this apply to each DVD? I mean if I purchase both "The Rock" and "Crimson Tide" on Blu-Ray, and also won both standard edition DVD's, am I only allowed to send in for one rebate, and not both? Or does it mean you can only send in one rebate PER title?

The second issue is the receipt of purchase for the Blu-Ray version. It states on the form "Store receipts must emanate from same state as consumer address". I read this as saying "you must purchase from a retailer in your state". In my case, I live in Washington State, and purchased "The Rock" via Buy.com and it was shipped from DeepDiscountDVD which is located in Illinois. If this is the case, then anyone who purchased it outside of the state they are living in, don't qualify for the receipt, however, one doesn't know this until AFTER they have purchased and opened the DVD, and once it is open, you can't return it.

I guess I am unsure why Buena Vista Home Entertainment has put these restrictions in place. I can understand limit one rebate per title, but if someone purchases all three films, and owns all three standard editions, they should honor a $10 rebate per title. Also, this nonsense about purchasing within your state is rather baffling. Sometimes the best prices are online, not through a local retailer. There is no phone number for someone to call and inquire about this, which is why I emailed Bill Hunt with Digital Bits as I am sure he could inquire with his contacts, but again, zero response from Bill.

Has anyone had their rebates refused or sent back because of what I mentioned above? I guess worse case scenario I go to Best Buy, purchase the same Blu-Ray version, make a copy of the receipt, and then take it back. I shouldn't have to do this, but if need be, I will.
