Maybe this will encourage Disney to release their Muppet movies on 4K Blu-Ray? I mean, The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppet Christmas Carol can all currently be streamed with 4K Dolby Vision on Disney+.

Hell yeah!! This is fantastic news!! I'm very excited for this one. I love this movie, already own the 2011 BD, but I won't hesitate to double dip for this one, it'll be worth it. The 2011 BD already looked good, I cannot even begin to imagine how fantastic the new 4K transfer will be, specially knowing Sony is the best of the best in the department. I will happily buy this as soon as possible. And it comes on my birthday month too! Dolby Vision, original audio.. new commentary! Couldn't ask for more. Thank you, Sony. I will be rewarding the effort with my money.

Here's hoping Muppets from Space is next. I know it's a lesser movie, but I've been wanting to upgrade my DVD for years but I never got to buy the BD and now it's very OOP. (In Spain at least!)

That'd be most fantastic, SPECIALLY if The Muppet Christmas Carol comes with When Love Is Gone, which was remastered in 4K recently but hasn't been released in that format. I know it's on Disney+ on the ''Special Edition'' or whatever, but I think it's not in 4K. But yeah - all those 3 movies look fantastic, would be great to see them on disc physically. I assume they'll come at some point, just dunno when.

I believe so. Hopefully this is the beginning of other classic Sony and Columbia titles coming to 4K. It would be really nice if they'd release individual releases of their Columbia Classics box sets.

Amazing news! Muppets Take Manhattan was my favorite Muppet movie until the 2011 film arrived. I voted for it as soon as I saw it on one of Sony's early 4K surveys (along with Matilda and Funny Girl, and we're getting the former soon. Keeping my fingers crossed Funny Girl gets announced any day now). And to make things even more delicious, it drops on my birthday. When I saw my birthday fell on a Tuesday this year, I was hoping a good title would drop then. I never would've expected this!

I'm eager for Frank Oz's commentary. During the pandemic lockdown, he and Dave Goelz did a livestream hosted by the MoMI on the making of this film, and he had some.amazing stories to share.

Day one purchase without hesitation. Love this movie and a new commentary by Frank Oz? That’s the icing on the cake. Bonus points for that cover too.

I hope Muppets From Space isn’t too far behind. Even if there aren’t any new features. I love that movie too and I think it’s very underrated.

And hopefully this will nudge Disney to release their Muppets on 4K (I kind of hate that Great Muppet Caper and Muppet Treasure Island are one release- despite it saving shelf space. I have my Muppet movies in release order on the shelf and this drives my OCD nuts lol)

Excellent news! How many releases per month come out from Sony? I was kind of hoping we would finally get Body Double. Hopefully it isn't too far behind.
