It’s funny that Sony is releasing four 4K steelbooks at the same time. Three repeats ( with added Dolby Vision and such) and one new to the format. All of these also seem to be single disc releases (no blu-ray included).

It’s also funny that this is the only one of the four threads in the Blu-ray North America forum (though it doesn’t even include a standard Blu-ray) instead of being in the SteelBooks forum like the others.

Not funny at all. It’s called a mistake. Ever make one? I didn’t think so. As you can tell by the other posts, I realized it and they are in their proper place. Psst…mods move these around when it happens. It’s not that big of a deal.

Easy buy unless it's over $30.

Always loved the movie, but never bought the blu-ray (I think because it was on TV all the time, lol). I'll gladly add this to my collection. Odd that it's going straight to 4K steelbook. I wonder if it will get a regular 4K release at the same time. So far, no indicators.

Sony does a lot of Steelbook-exclusive 4Ks. Fright Night is a notable example. It hasn’t got a standard issue yet. And it may not at all.

Of course there is also the oddity of Lawrence of Arabia 4K. Expensive boxed set or individual release in a steelbook.

Oh man. Talk about a lifetime. There was a chunk of time back in the day where I used to watch this movie nonstop on holiday breaks or snow days.

I have never been as invested in a sports movie as I was in this. That "Oh thank God" from Sean Astin makes me cry every damn time. He is perfect (the whole cast, sure, but man Astin is just all aces here).

A million years later and I still show the tryouts sequence in my Writing and the Senses 200-level writing course. Goldsmith and the camera have always had a great love affair, but I don't know many more movies that have solidified that marriage than this one.

Cue all those late '90s trailers that used the track because they knew. Haha.

Day zero. Take all my fu***ng money.

Glad they decided to go with a 'new' image, but then again this is a steelbook. If they do a regular version, they'll probably resort to their regular image. Looks good.

I wish they would release Fright Night - Part 2 (1988) with the original ending of Charley Brewster getting flipped off by Regine before she dies and also the Fright Night documentary, "You're So Cool, Brewster! - The Story Of Fright Night" uncut on 4K.

Unfortunately Sony has no claim to the second film. Those rights are in some kind of limbo.

Ghostbusters doesn't have DV.
