Is it Warner? Which would mean either Shout Factory or Warner Archives would have to release it?
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0106426/ Several people have been bringing this one up and I would also like to see it debut on BluRay. |

HBO produced it in the US, but it was released theatrically in many countries around the world.
Here are the production company details: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0106426/c...?ref_=tt_dt_co Not sure if this means a European country has better chances of releasing this on BluRay? |

It should be with Warner currently. Hopefully they see fit to get it out through WAC unless Shout Factory is able to license it from them but it would depend on whether or not it has had recent scan.
One of the mods should move this thread to the Wish List section. |

Domestic release breakdown (USA / North America): Tri-Star Pictures - Theatrical run (Columbia Pictures in Canada) HBO Pictures - Cable TV broadcast Thorn EMI - Home Video (VHS/Laserdisc) Silver Screen Partners (Provided financing) To be able to be financed the rights were divided and sold by region, Universal Pictures bought the theatrical and home video rights for South America (Mexico and as UIP in Brazil), Cannon / Thorn EMI International got the UK theatrical and home video rights. So currently the North American rights for The Hitcher are at Warners and different studios outside the North America. ![]() ![]() |

Interesting… so would it be fair to say that HBO owns the USA rights to ‘Blind Side (1993)’, but different companies own the rights in European countries? |
