I'd hardly say no one believed him. We all did.

after the kind of abuse that was heaped upon him by asstarded red ants, i think he's entitled to a little bit of gloating.

he's certainly handled being called a no-talent-assclown-hack with much better aplomb than i would have.

he's one of the few in the industry who supported blu from the get go. i think it is fine for him to have his moment.

I don't mind him rubbing in at Paramount & MSFT. They deserve it.

I still think Bay is a moron and makes horrible movies.

Seems like he wants to take alot of credit for something everyone already knew.

I have Blu-ray. I'm so smart, look at me, I was right!

That's what I tell all my friends who were looking into HD DVD last fall. Now I know why they call me "D-bag."

I'm not the biggest Bay fan on the face of the earth, but I wish more directors had been as vocal in their support of BD.

These types of inflammatory comments against Bay are uncalled for. Bay has been cited by our very own insiders as waking up certain movie studios to a certain software company.

Bay has prolly done more for Blu behind the scenes than you give him credit for. I for one thank Bay for speaking out and quite possibly started a domino reaction that we celebrate today.

The most upsetting thing Bay said was that Armageddon was destroyed in a fire and has to be remastered. Don't change a thing Mike!

And yes, let's all pat ourselves on the back for supporting the winning team.

Yeah, us Blu-ray fans, Bay included, have been pushed down since the beginning of this war. "Any one remember Beta?" "PS3 sucks!".

It's true no one belived us. And Bay was one of the few with an actual foothold in Hollywood that came to Blu's defense. News sites published his posts as rants, because HDDVD 'was still a contender'.

I love what Bay has done for the Blu group this time. I'll continue to enjoy his movies, and cant wait to pre-order Transformers as soon as possible!

This could be good news. Getting a new master with the latest equipment.

I like most of MB's movies, and I love his pro-Blu statements.

Please Mr. Bay supports who ever puts food on his table, he goes were the money goes, i cant blame him but i also would not be beating my chest saying i told you so to everyone either. He didn't seem to mind hd-dvd when they announced that his hit movie would only be available in that format, once his bosses let him now who signs his checks he changed his toon and said how he thought hd-dvd was not as bad as he thought after his viewing with the bosses.

Again i have no problems with that at all, but do not come out and scream from the mountain tops about how right he is, he could of done that before he forced many people here alone into buying a now useless paper weight just to watch his movie in hd!

So cool. Thanks for posting!

Michael a great example of how actual reality and indisputible credentials can crush the best BS laid down by the vested interests. MB has said all along that Blu-ray allows him to get better results from his work. And that trumps 1,000,000 HD DVD fanbois and every M$ agent that has an ulterior ultra-low bit-rate agenda.

And that notables like Stephen Spielberg, and Ridley Scott back him up confirms that HD DVD was pushing a lie at the consumer. Thank goodness for the pros.

Also, to these people it's more than the now. It's about the past (treating past works with respect) and the future (what can I do KNOWING that I will have that capacity and bandwidth to play with).

These people care about their craft, and that extends now to the home presentation.

Gary

What a ****** that man is. Anyone listen to his commentary of The Island? What a dick, what a James Cameron wannabe. If only he had even a smidgen of James Cameron's talent and movie career.

No offense, but They have contracts. You cant just break contract. Then it wouldnt be about his own paycheck, but rather a lawsuit taking it away.

You could tell by how excited and passionate he sounded when he first talked about Blu, and how disappointed he was when Paramount went HD on that first day. The next day, he non-chalantly said 'oh yeah, someone showed me HDDVD and its just as good' with no FEELING at all. You could tell he was threatened with a contract!

Was it coincidence that he came out with more strong words in favor of Blu the DAY after Transformers on HD went on sale? No way! The contract probably forced anyone involved with the movie to help promote HDDVD sales. Once its out, there is nothing else 'being sold'.

I cant believe there are people out there who havent realized this yet.

Again, not trying to start an argument with you specifically, but people need to just look at this situation a little closer.

Some of you are treating Bay like he's had the career of Uwe Boll.

Absolutely NOT agree with you! Michael Bay is a genuis in making great Action flicks! i always enjoyed his movies at the theater. Not always the kind of movies for brainers but they are very good popcorn flicks, and the boxoffice proofs this!

On this part, i agree with you, this really sounds like he was the only one saying so, but we all knew it long time before MB spoke about blu-ray and so does other directors.
