I’m surprised The Marvels is still getting some IMAX showings this weekend. Looks like a bunch if theaters are doing a morning and afternoon show of The Marvels, and 3 Hunger Games showings. Figured they would have all gone to only Hunger Games.

I was thinking $9.8M for The Marvels. $11.5M would be a really good second weekend for it IMO.

Hunger Games prequels will probably be around $35M tops but probably closer to $30M. Not as much interest in this book as there was the original trilogy. Rachel Zegler doesn't have the same mass appeal that Jennifer Lawrence had.

Black Widow made over twice that, and that was the first MCU movie released post-Covid when a lot of theaters were still starting up again.

And it was also day and date on Disney+ (albeit with a $30 charge).

This is a catastrophic failure, Marvel’s first true punch in the mouth. Disney will lose $200 million+ EACH on three movies this year…
