Default 220-electronics trustworthiness?

My dad bought me a player from walmart because we thought it was region free just to be pissed off google forgot to mention you needed to buy it from this vendor in specific and I am of course pissed about it, think we might buy the same model from them but a lot of the websites saying they were legit just seemed sketchy with only ones being these sites I've never heard of and reddit. still are they trustworthy, I don't want to fall for a scam if it is?

Yep, that's where I bought my most recent Sony UHD region-free player from, roughly a year ago. My previous region-free blu-ray players were all from B&H until I had a bad experience with them (region-bypass function stopped working, they wouldn't look at it and the company which does their extended warranty service refused to do work on a region-free player).

If I ever need another player, it will be 220 again

I've purchased region-free players from 220 Electronics twice and had no issues either time. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them again, and I'll heartily recommend them to anyone looking for a hardware-modded player.

I've gotten three players from them. A multi-region DVD player probably a decade ago or more and a multi-region blu-ray and another DVD player within the last five. The last DVD player had a European plug, but they included an adapter and it has worked fine.

I have gotten about 10 players from them.over the years ( gave some as presents.) They are very good. I got my Panasonic 4K from them (that 820 that is so phenomenal)... The only thing it doesn't play are some SD features on the European discs-- sound but no pic. Oddly, I have a Samsung 4K from them that has no trouble playing everything.

I've had three of their players: two DVD and one BD/DVD. Zero problems. I use the BD nearly daily to watch SD BDs, Region B BDs, and PAL DVDs. Try to get a refund from Wal-Mart and order your player from 220. The 220 prices are higher because expert labor is built in to the price.

15% off with code: TXBL15
Not sure how long it's good for or if it's one use only. It was texted to me.

My Panny 9000 region free player from them is still going strong as well. I was a little nervous that a firmware update could break it but they were adamant that it was a hardware mod and that software updates wouldn't break it. So far so good and I've thrown tons of foreign region discs at it.

I just bought a Panasonic ub820 4k player, and I know about the trick but i think to be safe Ill get a region free one.. the 220 site shows a Sony one the s6700 which plays 4k and can be region free , how come the Panasonic can’t be? Also would you recommend then Sony x700 or the ub820, or how about get both? Or maybe a cheaper lg player or the Sony s6700. I like the ub820, thanks in advance.

That's where I bought my Panasonic ub820 region free player from. I haven't used it a whole lot, but haven't had any issues with it.

If the ub820 you bought isn't region free, I would suggest getting a cheaper region free model, since the ub820 models are pricey. I think the Sony x700 would be a fine choice.

The x700 is 300, the 6700 is 150. Do you think having 2 4k player is overkill since I Have the ub820? Or is the x700 worth 300?

Just got the x700 at the start of May - VERY happy with it.

There was a coupon code for 15% off which was still good:

15% off with code: TXBL15
