im sure its going to be an awesome movie but May 2009? Wow thats a long wait but ill still go see it when it comes out. I wonder if its taking so long because of the DBZ live action movie they are currently working on now?

It will take that long to be released because they have just started principal photography I believe and considering this is a big-budget-tentpole-blockbuster and that it then will have to go through probably some reshoots and all of post production, it is no surprise that it is being targeted for the late spring/early summer of '09.

Movies take time.

I grew up familiar with the cartoon and was disappointed with the movies as they didn't hold to the animated series, I'm hoping they remain true to this, but I'm not giving up my hopes...

X1 suffered from a low budget, X2 was fantastic while X3 didn't quite deliver the goods. On the whole they are all enjoyable superhero movies. I'd buy X2 on blu-ray but probably not bother with 1. I already have X3 on BRD.

There won't be a box set of "all four" as this is a new, separate series/prequel (aka spin-off) focused solely on Wolverine. I think losing the whole "X Men Origins" part of the title and just sticking with "Wolverine" will provide less confusion for fans.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the X-Men Origins bit either. I think everyone knows who Wolverine is by now and thus simply naming it Wolverine would be better and won't cause confusion. I mean, we don't want people seeing the movie waiting for the other X-Men to come into the picture.

Either way I'm looking forward to this as I'm a huge Wolvie and X-Men fan. Hugh looks huge and ready to kick butt in that promo shot too.

I'd be happy to get the old cartoons on regular DVD, considering it hasn't even been released on that format yet.

Not sure, but it may have been the X-Men Evolution Cartoons. I know the original animated series has not been released on DVD yet.

Amen. She was, perhaps, my biggest disappointment in those movies. Unfortunately, she waited until the 3rd movie to give a decent performance--although it may have just LOOKED decent compared to the rest of the crap going on in that film. Her performance in the first 2 films looks like she sleepwalked through them. The lame costumes didn't help, not to mention every time Storm uses her powers we're treated to a lengthy close-up transition of her eyes turning white that take so long I had time to go get more popcorn.

I hate to say it, but I don't really hold out much hope for this new Wolvie film. The Weapon X backstory has been re-written so many times that I dread what Avi Arad will do with the franchise next. Marvel movies are always a crap shoot.

I didn't mind Halle Berry in the first two...but mostly because they didn't focus on her very much...the third movie just had lots of pointless shots of her showing off her ability.

My biggest complaint was when they land in the fog to find out what happened to Scott...Logan says something about not being able to see and she says that she can take care of that...ENTIRELY POINTLESS...why didn't she clear the area BEFORE they landed...idiot...

Anyway...Last Stand sucked anyway (BAD director)...I got it for free...anyone want to trade me something for it?

I would hardly fault Ratner as far as the movie is concerned. He did a competent job considering he came on literally weeks before shooting was to start. Story wise you can blame the writers and the studio for some of the plot points.
