None of the five albums that i have listed so far have been released yet, and I have only heard singles from all five. I am preemptively listening them, although I may change the rankings.

The new album from Everything Everything - Mountainhead doesn't come out until March 1st but just based off the singles, I’m pretty sure it will make my best of the year list. I absolutely love this song.

Future Islands - People Who Aren't There Anymore



I’m really enjoying this synth-pop album. It’s a mellow, laid back listen. I hadn’t heard of the band until recently, but I really like them. The lead singer has a unique voice. Great production and catchy songs. Highly recommend.

Vessel, a local Atlanta post-punk band whom I have seen live a couple of times as a supporting act, are releasing their debut album in April. They are incredible on stage and in studio alike.

I am in favor of normalizing saxophone in rock songs again.

Incredibly catchy Electro Funk. I’ve been a big fan of Chromeo ever since I heard the brilliant track “Night By Night” off their first album Business Casual (2010) back in the day. They have progressively gotten better and have delivered what I think is their best album to date and a great introduction for people who’ve never heard of them. The first half of the album is the strongest, but the second half has some really solid tracks as well. Such a fun album.

Solidifying herself as one of the most interesting artists in the alternative pop scene with her incredible last album, Cape Cod (2020). Allie X has returned and decided to make a full-blown synth pop album. The results do not disappoint. Great lyrics, loads of synthesizers, and Allie's powerful voice make for a great listening experience. I don't enjoy the album as much as Cape Cod, but it's a solid followup.
