Default 3rd Oscar Winners Viewing Marathon

With the Academy Awards being handed out on March 10th of this year, I am resurrecting my Oscar Winners Viewing Marathon thread.

For the month preceding the Oscars, I like to revisit past films that have won the coveted award.

The Marathon will officially start on February 11th, however, I may do a "soft opening" and watch a few films prior to that.

Anyone who is interested is invited to play along. The thread will function the same way as the October Horror or Noirvember threads - watch the films and post about them afterwards. You can give your thoughts on the movies themselves, as well as your opinions on the Oscar wins - were they deserved, should they have won more, should something else have won instead?

The ground rules that I will be following are:

1) Only Oscar winning films count. Films that received nominations but did not win any of them are ineligible (thus, Hustle & Flow with its win for Best Song is eligible, The Color Purple with its 11 nominations but no wins is not eligible).

2) All categories count from Best Picture all the way down to Animated Shorts.

3) Honorary Oscars count as long as they are for a specifically cited film (e.g. Toy Story with its award for being the first computer animated feature is eligible, but you can't just watch a bunch of random Donald Sutherland films because he was given one of those career achievement award thingies).

I always find this is a fun way to check out new films I've never seen before, as well as revisit old favourites, and I always love to see what other people choose to watch too.
