Default Avatar 4K re-release (March 4th 2024)

Anyone else got this yet?

An absolutely awful release in terms of fussiness. PQ and AQ look good, though.

Firstly, it doesn't come in a regular-sized case. Good luck sticking this on a shelf with all your film spines showing, as it's about an inch wider and will massively stick out. Ridiculous packaging.

Secondly, it folds out into 4 flat sections where the discs are all hidden so you can't see what you're taking out without pulling apart the cardboard and taking a lucky dip.

Thirdly, 3 options of film (great! I only thought there were 2) - regular theatrical edition (2 hr 40), special edition (2 hr 50) and Collector's edition (3hr), but ONLY the theatrical has ATMOS.

So any time you switch editions, you get a big black screen telling you to change the audio settings.

I'm seriously thinking of just sending it back and getting the normal 4K.

Awww, you had to spoil it by replying! But now that you've done so, I'll say that it's not like there's been a thread devoted to all things Avatar related where the 'extended cut no Atmos' thing was revealed months ago, is there? What? Oh

Hahaha, you silly sod!

I actually ripped mine already by mistake as I couldn't get the disc out and my fat fingers got in the way. Worst. Packaging. Ever.

Ah, that'll explain it. I'm not on here every day, so that passed me by.
