I don't have multi-region blu-ray players, this disc plays fine on my (USA) Sony and Magnavox(Funai) players (I don't know what the frame rate is though). Strangely, the box also says "PAL" even though, AFAIK, the PAL color TV format doesn't apply to HDTV. Kirk Bayne |

I notice a lot of times they will just list "PAL" for Blu-ray imports, even if they are A/B/C
Some of the "Bonus Features" on import A/B/C Blu-rays can sometimes be 50hz content however — and many US players do have issues playing 50hz content. So while the main movie might play perfectly fine on a normal "A" Blu-ray player, certain bonus features might need a multi-region player to play. I doubt that applies to this particular release...especially since you said it played fine for you. It looks like a Spanish "Resen" release, and I have a handful of those and they do not have 50hz content on them. |

What you said is accurate but not sure of your point. I don't expect weven companies supposedly in the business to use correct terminology.
As for what Katatonia said, If it is a "Hollywood content" he has a point but if it is a local title the main feature can also be 25/50. In the old PAL world all equipment can also deal with 30/60 since the dawn of HD and even a bit before that, so 30/60 content is just released that way. Here in NA not all players/displays can deal with 25/50. Plus these specs are older then PAL/NTSC it has to do with electricity. it was easier to build machines (projectors/ CR TVs ) where the video matched the frequency of the electricity. |
