Don't want to read too much about this new series, which I only found out about this past Sunday night when checking the TV listings (so I wasn't sure what to put in the brackets in the post title to descrbe this new series).
Passenger starts on ITV1 next Sunday night (24th March) at 9 pm - 10 pm, with the second episode airing the following night (Monday 25th March) on the same channel in the same timeslot, with all six episodes being available on ITVX. The series is the first TV screenplay by actor Andrew Buchanan (his screen credits include the drama series Broadchurch). Source: Sky TV listings and TV & Satellite Week (Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th March, 2024). |

Haven't yet watched episode two, but watched the first one last night (Sunday night). I haven't read any spoilers apart from the synopsis for the first two episodes, but I hope this isn't going to be one of those promising-sounding new series that ends on a disappointing note. Thought the first episode was very good.
Throughout I kept asking myself if they were using snow machines and fake snow (it looked convincing at times). Lovely use of colour at times, the story kept me interested (and intrigued) and I liked the mention of Twin Peaks in one scene. |

This is really bad. It's all over the place, it cannot decide what it is and just chucks stuff at the screen until it gets bored, then tries something else. characters are so badly written I was undecided if it's meant to be drama or comedy. The only police car in it is an Austin Metro jam sandwich, I thought they all rusted away decades ago. The final insult is the lack of anything resembling a conclusion.

I was unsure about it at first but i ended up enjoying it a lot. I didn't mind at all that it was tonally a bit all over the place even if it doesn't handle the mix of drama & comedy as well as something like Deadloch.
I also loved the ending & look forward to future seasons. |

To save starting a new thread, am posting about this new drama series in this thread instead. Previously available on ITVX, Platform 7 started on ITV1 earlier tonight (at 9 pm - 10 pm). This four-part series continues in the same timeslot until Thursday night this week.

Didn't know about this series until having a read through the new issue of the TV listings magazine. Starting on BBC One a week today (Tuesday 19th November) at 9 pm - 9.45 pm is a new four-part drama series called The Listeners. Four episodes in total (they will be made available on the BBC iPlayer).
The series will be getting a UK Blu-ray release by Dazzler (saw it's addition to the UK Blu-ray pre-order section on the website's main page earlier). |
