Why does Kong need to team up with big G if he has the infinity gauntlet?

One snap would take care of cranky kong!

$55, Walmart?

I am waiting for this to hit a reasonable price ($35) before I pre-order.

Does anyone know if they would honor and only charge a lower price if you pre-order at $55 and it goes down to $35 later? Or would pre-ordering now lock me into the higher price point upon release?

I dunno about this one. This movie looks silly as hell. I don't care for Kong getting a metal/transformers glove, and Godzilla and Kong frolicking together.

The artwork isn't bad. The colors are really nice.

Currently out of stock but I imagine it will come back in stock and a lower price hopefully when it does. That's what happened with recent steelbooks like Dune Part 2,Aquaman 2 etc when the pre-orders first went up.

ETA

The page has been removed. I've seen this before too. It will be put back up and probably/hopefully with a lower price..

Locked into the higher price. They've done this one a few. Within a few days it should drop to whatever the standard $30ish price will be.

They don’t, at least not in my experience. I’ve been burned a couple times now by pre-ordering on day one due to FOMO but then the price drops later on. I’ve always been charged at the price I ordered at. Inventory doesn’t ever really seem to be an issue when the street date comes, so I would say don’t pre-order until you’re comfortable with the posted price. I know I plan to wait.

Yeah,I'm hoping if i do decide to pre-order this, when the page goes back up, it will be $34.96 which is what the price went to when I pre-ordered Dune Part 2.Aquaman 2,The Marvels and Wonka after it was at that $55 price for a short period (the pages were pulled there too before being put back at the $34.96 price).

I'm not even 100% sure i'm going to go with the steelbook yet.I haven't gotten the steelbooks for the previous Monsterverse films. For the first Godzilla,I went with the Target exclusive that had a different slip cover and extra bonus features. For Kong:Skull Island,i got the Target exclusive that had a Lenticular slip cover and extra bonus features. With King Of The Monsters and Godzilla Vs. Kong,i just went with the standard slip covers since I liked the art more on them over the steelbooks.

I like this steelbook art but i want to see what the slip cover art is for the standard Blu Ray release or if Target does an exclusive with art cards (they did for Wonka). With Ghostbusters Frozen Empire i ended up going with the standard Blu Ray because I liked that art the best.

I figure I can pre-order this steelbook and if when the art comes out for the standard release or if there is a Target exclusive (big if since they didn't do ones for the previous two Monsterverse films),I can always cancel the pre-order on the steelbook.

Yeah, didn't notice that at the time of posting, as it stated WM exclusive on the page when it was up, and shows on the currently down link... Godzilla-X-Kong-The-New-Empire-Steelbook-Walmart-Exclusive.

Walmart has done this before of course, and I'll update the OP shortly.

The link pretty clearly states "Walmart Exclusive." Wonka also doesn't have any Walmart branding on the J-card, but it too is definitely a Walmart exclusive.

I'm trying to remember which titles Walmart has done this before in stating it's an exclusive to them, only later to find out they weren't. I'll leave it as Walmart Exclusive for now. If it turns out later it isn't, I'll pm a mod to change it, as I won't be able to after one day an OP is posted.

I’m so far behind on my backlog, I haven’t seen any of these newer Monsterverse movies yet.

I need to have a big marathon once summer break starts.

I’m not paying $55 for this, but if it drops to normal pricing, I’ll pick it up.

Is the US getting a Minus One 4k SB?

Or have it be like two some weeks later....

I've read this might be a YMMV thing based on location, but still lmao.

I hope so, fellas!

For some reason, in comparison, I see that the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire 4K steelbook at Walmart is still sitting at $55.99, which is ridiculous to me. Shouldn't that also have dropped in price by now?

Plus, Walmart even bumped up the Disney+ shows' steelbooks to $63.99 which is wild. What is up with that?! Talk about discouraging customers from pre-ordering! haha

At this point, with Best Buy out of the physical media game, I feel like studios should just drop exclusives and make each release wide, packaging options and all.
