Not sure...Amazon shows currently unavailable, Gruv is preorder, and Walmart shows available now. I guess a limited Walmart availability right now...

Stallone didn't direct Rocky V so he can't do a director's cut of that movie.

Yeah,WB strikes again. The Rocky Balboa Directors cut is only on the 4K disk. The Blu Ray disk is the older disk with just the theatrical cut. Blu Ray users are *bleep* out of luck....again Rocky Vs Drago and Rocky Balboa Directors Cut are both unavailable on the Blu Ray format.I'm sorry but WB sucks and this is not right giving the new directors cuts 4K disk releases only..

wonder what the difference with the director’s cut will be, and how HDR will handle the TV sports segment shot on HD cameras?

I know, but Sly made comments when he was discussing the re-cut of IV that he was working on getting the workprint of V remastered as well.

Massively disappointing that there doesn't appear to be a new cut of Rocky V... I wonder what happened there.

Stallone expressed interest in recutting Rocky V recently(ish) and the fact that Rocky V and Rocky Balboa weren't included in the initial boxset, and that we knew Stallone was recutting Rocky Balboa, led us to assume Rocky V was getting recut aswell. Stallone went way past schedule recutting Rocky IV, so I had just assumed he was taking too long recutting Rocky V & Rocky Balboa for them to be included in the initial boxset. It makes little sense not to include Rocky V otherwise - easily the least popular of the franchise, meaning the single editions won't sell very well without a new cut.

The only thing I can think of is that I can remember reading somewhere that the negatives for some deleted scenes from Rocky V aren't available anymore and only exist now as low quality tapes. Maybe there was truth in this. Very disappointing if true. The deleted scenes on YouTube are great (but awful quality).

He expressed interest in doing it, at least. Along with Nighthawks. I don't think it was ever confirmed he was working on it.

I wonder if it's because John G. Avildsen directed Rocky V, not Sly. Sly is also beefing with the producers of Rocky over the rights, but that doesn't explain why he still go to re-cut Rocky IV and Rocky Balboa. I dunno. If any of them need a re-cut it's V.

Who knows. Hopefully he'll say something about it soon.
And I agree about Rocky V needing it the most. I'm actually a little worried about the new cut of Rocky Balboa, as we've seen the deleted scenes and I think the theatrical cut is near-perfect as is.

Might be worth asking Sly on Instagram about Rocky V. I'm pretty sure it is actually him running the account and he likes a lot of comments, so must have a look at them.

I love Rocky Balboa the way it is. Aside from Mason Dixon kind of being a weak opponent for the series, it's a darn near great Rocky movie.

This is really going to test the completionist in me because Rocky V is terrible. Rocky Balboa however, is pretty good.
