The Arse of the World's Mind
United Kingdom Tigon British Film Productions

As 88 Films are releasing quite a few of these I think having an overall thread for the company is better than individual ones for each film considering how few films said company made.

Here is a complete list (22 in total) of the films that the company produced (88 Films releases highlighted in Red. Other NON UK releases highlighted in Blue):

Mini Weekend (1967) - Sex(?) Comedy.
The Sorcerers (1967) - Horror.
The Blood Beast Terror (1968) - Horror.
Witchfinder General (1968) - Folk Horror.
Love in Our Time (1968) - Documentary about sex.
Curse of the Crimson Altar (1968) - Horror.
The Body Stealers (1969) - Horror.
What's Good for the Goose (1969) - Comedy.
The Haunted House of Horror (1969) - Horror.
1917 (Short) (1970) - War.
Monique (1970) - Drama
Zeta One (1970) - Sci-Fi Sex Comedy.
Black Beauty (1971) - Drama.
The Beast in the Cellar (1971) - Horror.
The Blood on Satan's Claw (1971) - Folk Horror.
Hannie Caulder (1971) - Western.
The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins (1971) - Sketch Comedy.
Virgin Witch (1972) - Horror.
Doomwatch (1972) - Sci-Fi based on the BBC TV series.
Au Pair Girls (1972) - Sex Comedy.
Neither the Sea Nor the Sand (1972) - Horror.
The Creeping Flesh (1973) - Horror.

The 88 Releases from above sorted into BD & UHD below in order of release:

Blu-Ray:

1) Au Pair Girls (1972)
2) Zeta One (1970)
3) Witchfinder General (1968)
4) Blood On Satan's Claw (1971)
5) Hannie Caulder (1971)
6) The Body Stealers (1969)
7) The Sorcerers (1967)
8) The Curse of the Crimson Altar (1968)
9) The Blood Beast Terror (1968)
10) Doomwatch (1972)
11)
12)
13)
14)
15)

UHD (Region free, albeit the BD copies with these are region locked):

1) Witchfinder General
2) Blood On Satan's Claw

NON-88 Films releases (Excluding the Screenbound ones for reasons stated in posts 2 & 11 below):

1) The Creeping Flesh (Mill Creek (USA) - Vanilla triple bill with The Brotherhood of Satan" (Both the Arrow & OZ Imprint BD releases have exclusive extras including different commentaries) & Torture Garden (The Indicator release for everything)) - Currently the ONLY way you can get the film on BD.

In terms of titles not yet released by 88, it's worth noting that 88 very likely only has access to the following via their relationship with Screenbound:

The Blood Beast Terror
What's Good for the Goose
The Haunted House of Horror
Monique
The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins
The Virgin Witch
Doomwatch

Neither The Sea Nor The Sand

Those in bold already have Blu-rays from Odeon/Screenbound. I'd be very surprised if 88 did all these, but it'd be nice to see a Blu of Neither The Sea Nor The Sand.

If What's Good for the Goose gets a BD upgrade then I hope the full continental version, with topless Sally Geeson, is included & NOT the CUT cinema version that has been released on DVD in the UK.

A great list/thread. The Beast in the Cellar, which I have not yet got, was released a few weeks ago, another one to be added in red to your list.

I look forward to 88 Films releasing The Blood Beast Terror and The Creeping Flesh.

88 Films is becoming my favourite label.

Well 88 have released 3 of what Odeon/Screenbound released on BD already.

I definitely think they'll double dip on a few more: Blood Beast Terror, Haunted House of Horror, Doomwatch, maybe The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins because it's OOP. Virgin Witch was only released 2-2.5 years ago and it'd be hard to top that limited edition with the book.

The Creeping Flesh is apparently with Kevin Francis in the UK as part of his Tyburn holdings. There's virtually zero chance of 88 (or indeed anybody else) getting it as things stand.

It looks like 4K is the more popular format to sell. On Amazon the UHD+BD versions of both Witchfinder General and Blood On Satan's Claw are currently showing 100+ in the last month and the Blu-rays 50+

Might be because they've both had previous releases on Blu-ray.

True, but also I saw an interview with the chap who runs Powerhouse/Indicator, and he said that when a release is both 4K and Blu-ray, the 4K will always outsell the Blu-ray by quite a lot, to the extent where he thinks they possibly print too many Blu-rays of those releases.

The tricky part, however, is picking the right titles for 4K in the first place. It costs four times as much to restore and release a 4K title, so they've got to be titles in demand.

In the case of 88 Films, I think that is certainly the case with Witchfinder and Satan's Claw, but probably not the case with the other Tigon titles. Hence, they will all be Blu-ray only.

On instagram Sean Longmore (the cover artist) said on the cover for Curse of the Crimson Altar was "around halfway through the Tigon collection. Meaning there would be 6/7 more releases to come.

So presumably most of what Screenbound have the rights to that someone else mentioned.I'm guessing it will be everything minus either What's Good for the Goose & or Monique. Ideally I'd like ALL 8 to get released.

Anyone know who has the rights to the short film 1917? Could be included as an extra on a future release.

That makes sense.

I never had Witchfinder General in my collection, only seeing it on TV in the 1990s, it being very memorable and seeing it being released in 4K by 88 Films, I knew it was going to look impressive. Not to mention the very attractive artwork adding that extra distinction and reassurance of quality.

Also I was very impressed by the quality, robustness and the slightly textured feel of the slip case, which for me sets a new standard for slip cases.

Interesting that Au Pair Girls was Tigon. Thought they only did horror. Did they do any other sex comedies?

Zeta One was also produced, and they distributed quite a few of the huge wave of sex comedies we knocked out from the late '60s early '80s.

They did the following non-horror (10 of 22 films in total) with the sex comedies highlighted:

Mini Weekend (1967) - Not sure about this one as IMDB doesn't give much detail.
Love in Our Time (1968) - Documentary about sex.
What's Good for the Goose (1969) - Norman Wisdom comedy that was directed by one half of the Cannon Films owners. Sally Geeson gets her top off in the German version which is 27 mins shorter than the UK version.
1917 (Short) (1970)
Monique (1970)
Zeta One (1970)
Black Beauty (1971)
Hannie Caulder (1971) - British Western.
The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins (1971) - Sketch comedy.
Au Pair Girls (1972)

The ONLY Togon films I've seen are the 2 Folk Horror ones. Most of the Info I got from IMDB or Wikipedia.
