I just picked up the Walmart exclusive today. Not sure if they had them out early or they were already released? According to this site it says release date is next week. The steelbook comes in an outer case and I had no idea it was going to be a steelbook. It looks like a digipack just looking at it from the outside case and it didn’t say steelbook anywhere on it.

Same old tired tropes.
-Young annoying couple -Middle of nowhere relationship vacation -OMG Hicks are scary! -Car trouble! I’m not even a mechanic but even I know if your alternator is shot you can still get a jump or charge the battery and it will work for a few more starts. Ridiculous. Second cities have way more dangerous weirdos than tiny towns with sub 500 populations. It’s brighter than a full moon outside and yet a random stranger is apparently a human black hole and is darker than a shadow. WTF? Tacky. Im not even finished with the movie yet but I hope this couple suffers badly. At least the production value is high so I can hate watch it. Last edited by Deadsoon; 07-22-2024 at 04:23 AM. |

I bought The Strangers: Chapter 1 Walmart exclusive 4K steelbook for $14.99 at a local used shop yesterday.
I am assuming that either, 1.) a Walmart employee took some off of the cart and sold them at the used store, or 2.) someone bought the set, used the digital code, and then sold it. At any rate, this used store seems to get a lot of brand-new stuff on the week of, to my benefit. The Strangers: Chapter 1 is a total banger of a movie that I saw twice in the theater, so I am glad to have it in the 4K format. |

This was fine for a low budget production. Being filmed in Slovakia helped I guess since it doesn't look cheap at all. I just hope the story picks up in the sequels as it was pretty thin so far. The picture is pretty good I would say even if most of it is set in the dark.

I have the Walmart steelbook of this. I like this one better than the second one, which is faint praise, and I'm wondering if they're still doing the sequels. I haven't heard much about them, but weren't they supposed to be released fairly close to one another?
